PRODUCT
DEVELOPMENT
Conducting surveys and doing market research, we decided to create garments for a professional, independent working woman of Singapore because there is a huge demand for modest, chic, professional, comfortable and fashionable clothes in the market.
The women in Singapore feel that good quality clothes for professional women are not affordable and the ones which are, have poor finishing and poor quality.
Therefore, we decided to take all the above factors into consideration while creating our garments.

DESIGN
DEVELOPMENT
Fabric choice cupro - soft on the skin, delicate look, sustainable

Linen Satin- smooth feel, breathable and sustainable.
While designing on paper the two design students felt that we should make garments which are airy and not body hugging or tight fitting. So we moved towards the direction of creating garments which could easily be worn with the least of efforts.
The tops we designed were loose fitted with fabrics that feel good on the skin.
The pants we decided to make had elastic so that the wearer could easily adjust it according to her waist size. There are vents on the sides of her pants for easy movement and has a textiles printed flowy cloth attached to the pants so that the wearer embraces herself as the cloth moves with the rhythm of her strides.
The vest jacket with drawstrings on either side are so convenient as it has to be slipped onto the shoulders and tied however tight or loose the wearer would want to wear it. It has textiles on the inside to allow the wearer to embrace their inner skin without being conscious.

The dress is another garment which can be easily adjusted according to the wearer. It is a wrap dress which has been inspired and recreated by hospital gowns. There is easy movement in that as well. We managed to create simple yet chic garments to make it most comfortable for the women who buy the garments.
TEXTILE
INSPIRATION
Inspired by the healing power of Indigo on the skin we got inspired by the diseases formed on the skin and moved towards the creation of textures with bubble wrap that give a similar effect when printed on cloth. Taking it in digitally, translating the bubble wrap texture to overlays of more textures we came up with a digital print for my garment. It is definitely more visually appealing than the skin disease as we would not want the wearer to feel uncomfortable when she sees the textiles, reminding her of the skin disease.
